All ancilliaries power off as monitor light and speaker light were annoying me by blinking away when desktop off. Also obviously drawing current albiet very small. For others with USB problem correct funtionality, change the settings in the bios and save using F10. Remember to have a good look at the USB ports at the back as some have different fuctions and are used for flashing the bios etc. on newer systems.My unit is 5 months old
