    COMPELLING

We all know the story and what happens - but the telling is brilliant. Mantell's style is different from most biographers (I know this isn't a biography) or novels and you feel you are inside the character. I have read "Bring Up the Bodies " (also from eBay) and am waiting for her third in the trilogy to become available at a cheaper price

  • Most critical review

    Most confusing novel

I have only read the first 2 chapters of this huge novel and find it very confusing and difficult to follow. Will persist for a bit more but really do not expect to finish this book and of course will definitely give Mantel a wide berth in future!

  • Very good read

I bought two of the Hilary Mantel books in the series on ebay and read them both whilst on holiday. I am looking forward to buying and reading the third!

  • Brilliantly written

Brilliant book, one of my all time favourites. I love novels based on actual history and this is so well written. The characters are so well portrayed they come alive, particularly Thomas Cromwell - not the villain he is usually made out to be but a very clever man surviving and rising in a very dangerous time. I have already listened to the full series on Audible and am now enjoying reading it. No doubt I shall read it more than once. Highly recommended.
