The Very Best Of (2001) is a greatest hits album by Jethro Tull. It includes some of the band's biggest hits from 1969 to the present day. Ian Anderson selected the tracks himself, approving edits necessary for timing purposes, e.g. "Heavy Horses". • The Best According To...

Well, we all have different tastes. Some people don't understand and/or hate Tull and don't like some songs played and not played on ancient radio. I greatly respect the musicianship and quality of material through the years. I have seen Tull and Solo Anderson live more than any other artist, starting with the "Stand Up" tour, and am always impressed. This collection showcases those songs, according to the Ian Anderson penned liner notes, were selected by Ian himself. While I'd prefer to have a mix of a few different cuts I have previously enjoyed, this will do nicely to pop into the car player and cruise off into the night. Guess that's why Ipods are so popular...

  • Very Best of/Jethro Tull

Normally I'm not a fan of "Best of" albums/CD's. This one is no exception however the sheer amount of songs, makes it well worth the price of a CD. Also it is Tull, and most of their music is really good. Was a bit surprised more "Crest of a Knave" did'nt make it on here. Steel Monkey was the best though I suppose. There has been so many songs in a career that spans 42 years, to pick 20 best is kinda tough. 4 of 5 stars...

  • Tull in a nutshell

This disc provides most of the classic Tull hits I remember. There are 1 or 2 I would have liked to seen on it that are not there. With so much material over the course of approx 40 years, it is difficult at best to satisfy everyone. This collection does a good job, If buying only one disc this one is a good choice. It has classic examples of the variety of Tull.

  • The Very Best Of Jethro Tull - Jethro Tull (CD 2001)

The Very Best Of Jethro Tull - Jethro Tull (CD 2001) is some of the very best re-worked to be even better than the studio recordings because they are digitally remastered. This cd is a must for the music fan who has never been introduced to Jethro Tull and for the ultimate Tull fan because we must also have all recordings we can get ou hands on and because Ian Anderson's remasters are sometimes very strong and bring other instraments to the foreground which were only in the background before. Enjoy! Cheers!
