I have been buying my text books from Ebay for a few years now and it has literally saved me thousands of dollars as well as quite a few trips to the book stores to look for unavailable or out of stock books that are overpriced anyway! This book is in excellent condition and I'm sure I will be able to sell it to another student at the end of the semester on Ebay for about what I bought it for. So I basically get to use it at little to no cost to myself as long as I take good care of it - for starving college students, this is GREAT!!!
Good text in and of itself, I do find the actual use of equations to be dry and boring. I think that learning by doing is the best method, and I learn a lot more from repetition in my course with the use of McGraw-Hill online than I do from review at the end of the chapter within this book. That is why, overall, it is getting a 4/5. I just think the writers could have done a better job with application of theory, but the theory and ideas are sound in and of themselves.
I understood that the book was an international edition but in the past I've purchased international editions and never had an issue. First noticable difference is the that the pages are off. Second and possibly the most important difference is that on some of the problems within the book the numbers within the problem are different. This most concerning because this is an Accounting class. Every other student in the class that has an international edition textbook even has a different look than my book. The front cover is different and from what I can see their book is more accurate. Their book has the red cover and mine has the blue cover. Buyer beware.
This book is India version. The paper quality is low. The content is the same, but exercises are different. Another thing is that India use different way to separate thousand. For example, USA is 1,000,000 and India is 10,00,000. It's kinda hard to read. There are some Idian words in the content. This book is cheap to buy, but not good to use.
I'm a junior in accountancy departdent and I use this book in my class. This one is a good book. The content is not hard to understand and have a good example in it. But I think that it should has more practice than present.
