As you can see from some of my other book reviews, I have obtained several books written by Mark Bellomo. My first book was the Transformers Identification and Price Guide. I have since purchased two different GI Joe books and now this field guide. This book provides detailed photos that can be reviewed when you are sorting through your own collection or while on the hunt for new items. This book fits in the back of your pocket and is accurate and detailed enough to pinpoint the information and photos you need. Buy two of these...one to keep on the bookshelf for reference and the other to be worn and torn...you will get much use out of it.
this guide really made my search of g1 transformers simple by providing lots of info. and i made my own check list using the info. provided by tyhe field guide ive been hitting yard sales w/ the guide and found alot of great deals im wondering if there is a storing guideline for the newer transformers that come w/ batteries i.e. 25th anniversary optimus prime
I like this book for the fact that it showed me how much more TF figures are there and how much they cost ,it helped me bid to the right price and not over bid for them. It also reminded me of the forgotten transformers from the time i was a little boy when the cartoon was on TV and it made my happy. It cost some what chip for what i needed and very helpful. Last thing is this guide as it says on the cover is a field guide so it is small.
I love this book it had all the information I need to know exactly what the Transformers are worth. And I was able to identify them with the full color picture. I would have to say if you are looking for a good guide book for Transformers this is the one to have.
I decided to buy it as a start up collector of G1 transformers. I love the fact that it has every G1 transformer toy picture in color. I didnt like the price guide as much because the worth of the toys are much more than described in the book. This is according to ebay worth though, where the toys sell for much more than you might find at an collectors show.
