This fine scanner works great for less money than others that receive Phase two signals....but....you must learn how to program it....I used FreeSCAN from radio reference....I looked at many You Tube Vids on how to program it....Finally found one that made sense and it became a piece of cake....I can now make changes no problem if desired rather than paying someone else and then not being able to make changes....it was worth the time it took to be in total control of the programming.....this scanner has so many extra functions and spaces for desired freqs, that you could never use them all....go for this unit and end up with an enhanced brain!....Don M

It is an excellent all around scanner with more memory than I could ever think to use. Easier to program with software than doing it manually. The ONLY negative I have found is the scanner does not like trunked simulcast system because of the transmitter delay at each site in these systems. IN order to hear these systems you MUST have the squelch turned down low to #2 or #3 setting. You will not see this in any Uniden publication, but experience and researching the problem revealed the work around to the problem to me.

Freescan software makes setting up this scanner very easy. Having a radio reference account helped tremendously. After it's loaded it works just like it should. The software allows you to control the scanner without touching a single button. The recording function is really awesome as well. It may seem like I'm just talking mostly about the software but without the scanner working flawlessly with the software this would never be possible. Reception is great.

Figured out how to program it pretty fast using freescan. With a premium subscription to radio reference and a few videos it was very easy. Which you don't have to have, analog frequencies can just be copied, but makes trunked systems a lot more convenient. It is simple to navigate through the different services if you are trying to catch something new on a frequency you do not have saved in your scan bank. Then can be added later. It can tune into FM as well which is a great addition since I have a roof mounted antenna. This was a little harder to program than the Home patrol scanners, where you just enter a zip code, however the editing possibilities are a lot better, so you don't have to listen to everything in the state. Or have to spend hours locking out stations. I like the color choices for the display, and alternate colors for stations you are trying to catch. Great deal, it was a good purchase.Read full review

Great radio, had a minor issue programming but was user error. Luckily I had a wall cable since all that came was a cigarette plug cable. Programming cable worked great. Minor scratches but can tell the radio is gently used. Had Velcro on the bottom of the stand that I had a heck of a time getting off but was able to get it off and wipe it down with a Clorox wipe to get the sticky stuff off. Great buy overall
