I did not know what to expect. I thought perhaps a dictionary type of text. The content is good. However, some of the insults are rather lengthy. The short jabs are much better and easier to remember. The research must have been exhausting and credit should be given to the author and the researchers. My copy is on my nightstand.

This is a little illustrated book with a couple hundred insulting idiomatic expressions taken from classical Roman literature. It is humorous but not as superficial as you might assume, because the English translations are common, not literal. Although the Romans had a very "earthy" type of humor, there is no obscenity that I can remember. I kind of wish they had a page of it. There are also a bunch of naked drawings that add to the humor.
Great book for Latin students
