Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in CD Players & Recorders
This was the entry-level 'ES' series CD player from Sony starting in 1995 and was very popular and well regarded. It does not have the beautiful and very expensive extruded anodized aluminum front panel and multi-colored displays of the earlier generations of Sony's top tier CD players, but it does have some of the same features and superb sonics of its more expensive brethren. An example is the quality gold-plated pairs of RCA jacks on the rear panel - LINE OUT - fixed or variable. IF you have the Sony #RM-D820 remote control, you can control this player's output to your amplifier by using the 'variable' outputs and using the remote control's LINE OUT LEVEL + and - buttons! And being an 'ES' model it also has the same micro-motor driven potentiometer for the LINE LEVEL output that also controls the headphone output as all the rest of the more expensive 'ES' models for best sonic performance (solid-state stepping controls are cheaper but alter the quality of the sound). The photo is my XA1ES with a 'restored' 40 year-old Advent Model 300 FM receiver as the 'core' components of a small stereo setup for my workshop/office. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
