I watched this as a kid on tv and wanted to watch it again.it does not matter what view you take or whether you believe it all happened or not,its just very entertaining.well worth watching.

a gripping drama of love,hope survival in dangerous times..
i purchased this dvd of a tv drama series of the holocaust,that i remembered seeing many years ago when i was at school.it tells a poignant story of a well to do jewish doctor&his family who become victims of nazi persecution .the story revolves around the terrible changes brought upon them by this regime and how their once priviliged life dissapeared as the hatred of jews intensified.virtually overnite they became ostracised by ethnic germans including christian patients who he had brought into the world and others whose lives he had saved.this story runs parralell with that of a one time patient who becomes a leading nazi,and instrumental in the final solution.dr weiss had treated his wife and saved her but this meant nothing ,he refused to help the family in their plight as he was ... i purchased this dvd of a tv drama series of the holocaust,that i remembered seeing many years ago when i was at school.it tells a poignant story of a well to do jewish doctor&his family who become victims of nazi persecution .the story revolves around the terrible changes brought upon them by this regime and how their once priviliged life dissapeared as the hatred of jews intensified.virtually overnite they became ostracised by ethnic germans including christian patients who he had brought into the world and others whose lives he had saved.this story runs parralell with that of a one time patient who becomes a leading nazi,and instrumental in the final solution.dr weiss had treated his wife and saved her but this meant nothing ,he refused to help the family in their plight as he was revelling in this new life he had were peopl feared him .quite gripping and graphic it tells of the break up of a loving jewish family and there desire for survival &imminent destruction.it makes you realise that greed 7prejudice are very damaging and mans inhumanity can cause such destruction.the film does have some lighter moments and proves that even in the face of anhialation the jew will always find something to thank god for and to laugh about .it also gives us an insight of the warped nazi mentality and you find yourself cheering for the reistance in warsaws ghetto even tho you know it a losing battle.all actors gave truly believable performances and you feel the grief as if personal.i felt many different emotions watching this and have lent it to my sibblings .who also found it gripping.allin all an excellent dvd that makes u question how such a supposedly civilised nation could cause such devastion on an integrated race who gave them most of their culture and professinal standing.

I have always loved this series. It reminds us of the genocide by the Nazis. We should always remember to treat people with love and respect.
