The NEW Ker-Choo
Great black and white Cartoons, with amazing movement and timing. Sheds light on a World which was slower and gentler. The quality is very good, considering these are from the 1930s. A caricature of a Jazz Age flapper, Betty Boop was described in a 1934 court case as "combining in appearance the childish with the sophisticated—a large round baby face with big eyes and a nose like a button, framed in a somewhat careful coiffure, with a very small body of which perhaps the leading characteristic is the most self-confident little bust imaginable". Although she was toned down in the mid-1930s as a result of the Hays Code to appear more demure, Betty Boop became one of the best-known and popular cartoon characters in the world.Great black and white Cartoons, with amazing movement and timing. More of an oop's than Boop!
I remembered Betty Boop from being a child and thought I'd give the DVD a go! Not what I expected :o( the DVD feels like a poor copy which has come from the TV to video and then thrown onto DVD. It does jump in places and the picture quality is not what you would expect from a new DVD - even an old cartoon! But I guess its something "a blast from the past"
