Tumbledown: A Rare Look at the Cost of War
In a world of films such as Rambo & G.I.Joe which are strictly entertainment to the rash of recent poorly made, overdone anti-war films that aren't even worth naming stands TUMBLEDOWN. At the end of the 21st century when others are deciding which films were the best, TUMBLEDOWN will be at the top of the list. A hard hitting film that brings the cost of war down to a very, very Personal level. Colin Firth"s Performance has to be seen to be believed, capturing the heart of the Warrior, the joys and heartbreak of the homecoming and picking up the pieces of your life afterwards. Something I know about personally. The Script, Directing, Production and Cast are among the finest I've ever seen. I won't say much else, but if you only buy one DVD this year buy TUMBLEDOWN. It's one of those rare ... TUMBLEDOWN (Colin Firth)
...the Falklands War saw the British Army using bayonets for the first in many, many years. It is little coincidence that the British have since lost more men from that war to suicides than were actually lost on the Falklands itself. This battle was one of most greatest examples of just how horrific war is. This drama is one of the best I have seen to reflect both the very real horror and humanity that exists in such an arena. There is no easy sense of feeling removed while watching this particular war movie (which frankly leaves films like JARHEAD looking like an episode of SGT BILKO). It is most fitting (if even part of a woeful minority) that this particular battle is remembered and expressed so well in TUMBLEDOWN.
