My first set of "fun" came without English instructions. The second pair, from India, had the English instructions. The user needs these! The 23M's had wonderful manual adjustments. These do not and , thus, one depends on those made at the factory. I want more high frequency and a bit less low. No can do, I think, but without detailed instructions, who knows.! Still they could great and I recommend them, but I suspect that they could be better with proper instructions..

I have been using Siemens Touching Hearing aids for about 12 yeas best I can recall. Thought I would try the Lotus and I do not like it. No touch button on top and does not appear to have any frequency adjustments. I love the Siemens Touching and the Lotus is probably good for some people with certain hearing losses.

The quality of the aids and clearness of hearing I have with the Siemen's Lotus 12P/23P-UPDATE-FUN P is remarkable. It doesn't require a hearing test, nor an audiologist to program it. It is fully digital and comes pre-programmed with 4 program settings you can choose between, depending on your circumstances at any given time. Because the instructions are in Chinese, I wondered how on earth I would figure out how I was supposed to use them. It turns out that it is not hard at all to figure out. It might be helpful to have a family member or friend mark where the ear tube should be cut, but looking in the mirror and doing it yourself would probably work. The aid comes with a battery, so you can use it right out of the box after fitting the tube to it. It is actually quite simple to use. You can easily switch from program to program depending upon what venue situation you are in. Just hold the toggle switch down 10 seconds. Turning the volume up or down within each program is also easy to do. To increase or decrease the volume in any program, just hold the toggle switch down 1 second at a time for whichever direction you want the volume to go. It really is not complicated. The first program setting is for quiet places. The second program setting is for places with a lot of background noise and helps filter out the background sounds so you can hear more clearly someone talking to you. The third program setting is for use on the telephone, and the fourth program setting is for listening to quiet music – like when a symphony is playing music softly, or if you are severely hard of hearing it will improve hearing people talking in their normal voice. I mostly use the first program at home. At crowded restaurants or places with lots of background noises, I'll use the second program. I have not needed to use the third program for telephone use. My normal program for in the house has worked fine. Truly, I am impressed that at its low cost, this hearing aid performs so well. I moved into a low-cost hearing aid a number of years ago when I decided to try an MD Hearing Aid. I was quite pleased with them. Seeing the ad for the Seimen's Lotus Fun P make me curious and I wondered if at it's even lower cost whether it could be anywhere as good as the MD Hearing aids I had previously. It is every bit as good, if not better, for an even lower price. I do get the light squealing noise occasionally, which happens if the tube in the ear moves a bit – such as if I put on a hat or move my eyeglasses or maybe even turn my head too suddenly. Just a simple touch to soft dome in the ear stops it. Overall, I am quite pleased with how my Siemen Fun P aids are working for me. My hearing is in the range of moderate loss. You can't go too wrong for the price. I decided to take the little gamble on it, and I'm glad I did.Read full review

Works well, can definitely tell the difference between the 4 programs. Great to have the ability to adjust the volume yourself. I got these for my 98 year old mother because her $2000 hearing aids were no longer loud enough. She has now turned the tv down from 80 to 25 and keeps saying that the ticking of the clock is too loud. Had to turn these down almost to the lowest level. They should be good even when her hearing gets worse. Over a week now and still using the original batteries. I got these basic aids because they were most like her old ones. She was used to changing batteries and probably would not understand how to charge the rechargeable ones.
