Lightweight and it just works!
Rated as IP54 and has so far worked nicely in the rain, although I have now given it some cover. Really easy to set up; you just have to be careful that water running down the mains cable doesn't go into either the energiser or the mains plug AND you keep the energiser upright. I like the mains stake and +ve connector for the fence (although it would have been nice to have supplied a stake to hang the energiser on). Both are easy to install and should last a long time. I haven't used this with a long electric fence but on a 75-100m one it's very effective. Spot on for chicken run
Easy set-up, reliable piece of kit at a good price. I'm 8KV for my large chicken run which is not perfectly isolated due to stray bits of greenery, and I have personally experienced it's effectiveness. The ground spike is a bit on the small side for me and is the only pary worth upgrading but the whole package represents excellent value and I have recommended it to friends who have also used it.Easy set-up, reliable piece of kit at a good price. Very effective and delivers a good "jolt"
Good product, used Energiser to power 50m long multi-strand chicken mesh fence, I used a full length 1.4m ground earth spike to ensure a good connection to ground as the dry weather meant that the small spike supplied was not very efficient. Excellent deterrent and gives a very good "bolt" when touched.... I tried a few times to make sure it was working and even with rubber soled shoes it delivered a clear shock that I won't want to experience too often. I mounted the Energiser indoors and used 1.5mm 3 core flex to get the current to the fence some 30m away. So far ducks are safe so I am quietly confident that this set-up is working well.
