I enjoy smoking meats year round, which typically requires frequent monitoring. This thing is great. You can run the lead to your meat (inside the smoker or your oven) and then transmit the temperature wirelessly to the handy receiver. I can monitor the core temperature from anywhere around my house or yard. The receiver is loaded with easy to understand display settings and features too.

Just Got the package and opened it, the box to the food thermometer was damaged on one end and when I opened it the stainless steel probe had finger prints all over it and it smelled like food. It has scratches on the end with a little sign of use as the pictures show. Feels very light and cheap but it’s good for now I’m a chef and can’t wait any longer for another thermometer to order again since the basic ones at my job take at least 10-20 seconds to take a temp , this one is by far a faster reader. Got readings in 4-5 seconds. Probably will pay more for retail that’s new next time unless they send me another one without me having to returning this thermometer.

does read a little slower than some, probably cause the probe is so thick. It seems to be pretty accurate, but it;s just not super responsive. This thermometer looks durable and the probe is very sturdy. I wasn;'texpecting it to be so thick. Looks like it`s going to hold up for heavy use. what a deal at a great pice!
