    Great season!

    This season is even better than the last one, and that one was awesome. I like how Uhtred is finally getting some happiness but how his inner conflict between his Saxon and Danish heritage is even more pronounced. I am hoping that with Edward on the throne he can at least quit being so torn all the time. I am also hoping he can take back Bebbanburg in this season because I feel like it has been forever since he tried to go there. The battles are as always excellent, and so is the acting.

    Director's interpretation Not Bad, Good, often Very Good. Author's writing Outstanding

    This is the continuation of the BBC television's interpretation of the Bernard Cornwell books. I read the books before seeing the DVD and as such the warmth that I expect to feel for the characters is lacking. That is not a fault of the DVD's nor movies. The actors as characters are engaging, the settings are awesome, and the fighting sequences are well edited to look all-too-real. The hero's distain for the king's fanatical religious piety does seem to be understated. The love stories tend to be all but forgotten in the movie versions. The DVD's are clear and well manufactured - not withstanding the anti-piracy thumbprint does occasionally interfere with my older portable player. Bottom Line: I will be purchasing the DVD's for season 4 when they become available

    WOW, ladies be prepared to fall in lust.

    Fabulous series. Does justice to the novels which are woven around true historic events. I am British born but find myself cheering for both sides. Believable dialogue, great cast, amazing costumes and sets. Draws you in so you can almost smell these unwashed heros of a time when men were MEN. Love it.

    Among best of the historic genre, A classic

    Uhtred is a great hero. All the writers, characters/actors, directors and the production team have collaborated to make a series that is total classic; consistent high adventure with a clear moral compass that is so refreshing in our times of corruption and moral vacuousness. Uhtred and his loyal band are infinitely more endearing than in the books and the films are much fairer with regard to Christians, their motivations and the importance of faith in 9th century England. In other regards the creators have remained quite true to Cornwell's wonderful stories. On to Bebbanburg, On to Season 5.

    The Last Kingdom is a series not to be missed

    The DVD was at a great price, delivered on time in excellent condition. This series is wonderful, the battle scenes are as if it was real life, complicated and very graphic. The characters are complex and grew with the time span the series covered.
