About this product

Product Information

Do you realise you, and all the people you know, play games? All the time? Sexual games, marital games, complex games that you're not even aware of as you go about your usual life? You might play games like 'Alcoholic' or 'The Frigid Woman' at weekends, or perhaps 'Ain't it awful' or 'Kick me' while you're at work. First published in the 1960s and recognized as a classic work of its kind by professionals, the bestselling Games People Play is also an accessible and fascinating read. It is a wise, original, witty and very sensible analysis of the games we play in order to live with one another - and with ourselves.

    This book saved my life.

This book makes the human race make more sense. If you are having a crappy time understanding why other humans keep doing whatever it is they are, or are not doing to you, the chances are this book will help you understand why. That understanding can be right useful sometimes. Seeing a bad game start up, and being able to make a sharp exit is no bad thing...

  • Not Very Happy.

This second hand book arrived in very poor condition. This copy was obviously decades old. The pages were yellow with age and the binding was falling to pieces. For the price I'd have been better spending £3 more for the real thing.

  • Good allrounder

Good book covering transactional analysis in a straightforward way. Not a lot of mind boggling terminology and easy to read. Would recommend for anyone looking for an introduction to TA.

  • Useful content for analysing and defusing problematic relationships and social interactions

A comprehensive study (with examples) of the psychological games that people play in a relationship or social environment. Includes breakdown of Parent - Adult - Child ego states, transactional analysis and "stroking". The book may be heavy reading for some with complex or American terminology but the payoff makes it worthwhile to persevere.
