Synopsis
Daringly metaphorical and sensuous, this collection juxtaposes youthful passion with the desolation of grief. Drawn from the poet's most intimate and personal associations, the poems combine eroticism and the natural world with the influence of expressionism and the genius of a master poet. This edition features the newly corrected original Spanish text, with masterly English translations by award-winning poet W. S. Merwin on facing pages. - Includes twelve sketches by Pablo Picasso - New introduction by Cristina Garc a For more than seventy years, Penguin has been the leading publisher of classic literature in the English-speaking world. • What.-don't tell me you are going to pass up this book!

I enjoy poetry, and to be a fan of poetry you must have a taste of Pablo Neruda. The guy is fantastic, and this book was given to me by another poet and it is one of my, many, favorite books. His writing is superb and to distance yourself away from love EXTRAVAGAZA is also suggusted: If you do pick up this book, look for "Every day you play" and "Tonight I can write" and it goes without saying that a few lines of Pablo Neruda can dazzle your significant other...be it going steady or married...some of him, candles, and wine...very romantic stuff :-)

    • Beautiful content, great learning tool

Beautiful poetry, a great way to improve language skills and vocabulary. Would recommend this to any student of spanish.
