In my opinion the Living Bible published in 1972 is the best paraphrased Bible ever published. I have read thru these Bibles 14 times over the last 30 years. I read 2 pages every night before going to bed. It takes me 2.5 years to read all the way through the entire Bible. I love to give them away to people who gave readying the King James version. The only cost $7.00 used.

    Excellent version.

    Even though this book has been paraphrased, The author is careful to leave footnotes as to the reason for the wording he has placed in it. If a person wants to read the Bible in our common day language and for a good understanding of what the book is all about, I would recommend this version. I have given copies to each of my Grand daughters. ( 18 -19 yrs old) They could not make sense of the KJV but now we can converse in an understanding not possible before.. If one has questions or doubts about a verse or thought in ANY version, cross reference them with study bibles, and concordances. But I would recommend this version for daily reading for any age. God Bless !

    A Wonderful Paraphrase Edition

    The Living Bible is a wonderful paraphrase edition of the Bible. It has since been made into a very good thought-for-thought Bible translation, The New Living Translation. While I would never encourage anyone to swerve away from a good solid word-for-word translation of the Bible, the Living Bible (as well as NLT) has been a great help over the years, 40-some years to be exact. I bought a used edition from EBay for someone in our church who had lost their original LB from way back when. They were thrilled to get their hands on this one!

    Very easy to understand and follow!!!!!!

    I like this bible because it is so easy to understand and follow! I get so much more from this bible (Paraphrased Version) than i could get from KJV. I also like the thicker pages (I really dislike very thin pages) and the hard (but padded) green cover. i was givin my first living bible, got my second one thur ebay, plus many many more to give away to those i run into in my daily walk. i have got good comments from those who never could get into or stay focused on the KJV bibles. -note Taylor also has a Study Ref. version of the living bible that has some extra usefull FACTS, and a Red Letter Edition with the words of CHRIST (not GOD) in red. I think everyone should have one of these bibles to read with (there version) or without. that is my review not the lords, i hope it helps you.

    Easiest Bible You'll Ever Read And Understand.

    I bid on this Bible having already used one just like it. The reason I wanted another is, the one I had is well worn and I wanted to keep it from getting worse. This version ( The Living Bible Paraphrased ) was the first bible I was truly able to understand completly and with no guess work about what was meant in any of the verses. I've heard all the so called objections about how this and other versions change the meaning over what the King James version uses, I'm not buying that way of thinking! If God can use a donkey to speak to man and a whale to change a mans mind then he can use this version of his Word to teach a man, and He has, I have had this version for over 35 years and God continues to teach me through it, His ways each day. I highly recomend it for those who have ever ...

    The Living Bible...I LOVE THIS VERSION

    This is the Bible I was given as a gift to commemorate the date of CHRIST forgiving me of my life of sin. The redemption that I realized dove me straight into reading the word of GOD. In my journey with GOD, my Father...Jesus on Earth and the Holy Spirit, I've been blessed with being a tool that is used to bring others to CHRIST. In this, I have found that this particular Bible is preferred over the KJV for new CHRISTian's. The easy to understand NIV is what I offer to those who come to know the LOVE of GOD, the forgiveness of sin and the NEW LIFE that is FREE to anyone who comes with a desire to learn of the LIFE OF JESUS, while here on Earth.
