Four stars rather than five from me because it would be easier to feed the cable through a sensible sized hole if the sockets and reset button were on different length break out leads. As it is I can get it through a thin walled 22mm tube, to help it through the house wall, if I fold back and tape the power socket and reset button. End of criticism. Apart from that I immediately get the impression that this is a very solid well made product in a nice metal housing. Impressive for the price. The camera as supplied uses the local DHCP server to configure itself to the network and is very easy to initially access using Android and reconfigure to a fixed IP address and admin passcode. It can then be further configured by logging in from a web browser on a PC. For the open source enthusiasts I am using Ubuntu Server 20.04 with the motion software to experiment with my camera before getting it permanently installed outside. The entries I am using in the motion.cont file to get video from the camera are:- # The full URL of the network camera stream. netcam_url rtsp://192.168.x.x netcam_userpass admin:passcode Hope this helps others.Read full review

It's easy to set up, assuming you have the necessary existing network, and it generally works well. I do find it very hard to get the settings right at night, though, as - even on extremely low sensitivity - it records insects (which are probably attracted by the lights) and rain, which is irritating. So on a rainy night you're likely to get dozens of recordings, and they each tend to be 30-40 seconds long as I can't see a way to reduce the length. It feels nice and solid (much better than the Reolink wifi camera I tried beforehand), and the actual picture quality is very good. The Reolink app is ok, although it has a couple of odd behaviours.

Bought this after reading all previous reviews and found it to be very good. Installed using Home Wi-Fi set up through the PC app without any issues. Picture quality excellent and set to record motion to SD card which I then download to NAS on a schedule. This purchased to cover rear garden and have a second on order to cover the side drive as results so far as good as described in the Reolink site. Delivery was prompt so would recommend

You can use these cameras standalone or pair them with a reolink DVR. Nice sharp picture, sensitive microphone and decent night pictures without additional lighting. Doddle to install. Has on board SD card if using standalone, but not required with DVR. If networked behind a switch and not directly to the DVR, the app sees it twice. Once on its own and again via the DVR. Very sensitive motion detection, has the ability to blank arbitrary areas for privacy. Often go on sale, so look out for deals.

I have 15 Hikvision cameras so am used to set up of cameras. This is very different This one wouldn't set up via pc as software just won't work. It works via app. You set up a password and get a ip address. To use 3rd party software log into camera via browser. user = admin, password you have set, port 8000. you can then set ip address to static. 20 mins rather than 1 min via reliable Hikvision software. Once its up - great picture. Designed for people who want to use mobile app and not for people who want a variety cameras on 3rd part software But the best thing is it has sound and its great. Very clear image . The night vision is good and seems better than my DS-2CD2042WD-I. For the sound this is well worth a try as it beats the Hikvision bullet models. If this lasts, l'll be trying others !!!Read full review
