Quite rigid, no play. Only annoying thing is the hex bolt at the bottom which you need to loosen and retighten every time you need adjust seam length. So keep that alan key handy.Would be 1000x better if it were finger tight screw.

The item was very well packed. It took me over 1/2 hr. To unpack the machine. The machine was in excellent condition and what I thought were scratches were probably polished out or did not exist. She sent me a very nice Thank You note for my purchase and told me where she found the machine and the condition it was in. She refurbished it to the condition I received it in. The shipping label stated it cost $53.00 to ship which I thought was outrageous, but out of her control. Iam sure she ins. it.
