Portable Professional Quality
This is a professional quality 'super zoom' with a ratio of 8.5:1. It has a constant f4.0 aperture. It has built-in stabilisation which will also work in harmony with some Olympus bodies (those with Sync-IS) to give top class stabilisation. The manual focusing ring and clutch systems is another nice feature of Olympus Pro (and selected premium) lenses. Optically it is very sound and delivers professional standard performance. It is not light (a good deal heavier than the regular Olympus 14-150mm) but equally it is portable and easy to use, especially with the more substantial Olympus and Panasonic Lumix camera bodies. The relatively compact design and reasonable weight come at the expense of that constant f4.0 aperture. For those wanting high quality in just one lens which will ... Olympus 12-100mm f/4 Pro for M43
The Olympus 12-100 f4 Pro is a really versatile lens for walking about with. It is fully weather sealed and give really sharp images. The stabilisation is great as with all the Pro lenses. The only down side is possibly the f4 aperture in low light, but to to get such a small lens with the zoom range and at the price, this has to be expected. I would definitely recommend this lens to anyone who wants to use one lens only for day to day use.The Olympus 12-100 f4 Pro is a really versatile lens for walking about with. It is fully weather sealed and give really sharp images. The stabilisation is great as with all the Pro lenses. A wonderful lens on my OM-D E-M1.
A great all-in-one lens for the Olympus micro 4/3s range, the build quality is first class and the glass is sharp and CA free. I even use it on my Pen-F but then it feels like a lens with a camera attached rather than the other way around. 😀
