Although a little smaller that expected, it flies beautifully, but because so much smaller than my usual kites, it is very quick to respond to the slightest hand movements. I feel that it would be quite difficult for a beginner - unless they tied some ribbon or plastic tape to the back to stabilise it. For new kiters - tie a loop in the end of the lines, then use lark's head knot to attach to kite bridles. EXCELLENT!
