About this product

Product Information

After his confrontation with the man in black at the end of The Gunslinger , Roland awakes to find three doors on the beach of Mid-World's Western Sea-each leading to New York City but at three different moments in time. Through these doors, Roland must "draw" three figures crucial to his quest for the Dark Tower. In 1987, he finds Eddie Dean, The Prisoner, a heroin addict. In 1964, he meets Odetta Holmes, the Lady of Shadows, a young African-American heiress who lost her lower legs in a subway accident and gained a second personality that rages within her. And in 1977, he encounters Jack mort, Death, a pusher responsible for cruelties beyond imagining. Has Roland found new companions to form the ka-tet of his quest? Or has he unleashed something else entirely?

The Gunslinger - Dark Tower Series by Steven King

I've read this entire collection before back when it first came out. My books are in storage and I wanted to read them again so I have looked at auctions on eBay. If you like King's writing then you will love this series. It is full of adventure and creepiness that we love from King.

  • Sometimes hard to follow, but worth it!

I bought this book based on the first one, obviously, and I'll admit I tried twice to sit and read this book before without success. It's the continuation of an already in action story - a good plot! - and if I had to guess, this book is laying the groundwork for the books that come after. So while it a bit confusing in the typical Stephen King fashion of slowly leading up to where things come together and you want to scream "get to the point already!", there is a reason for this second book, keep reading!!

  • Read These

Great 1st ed. In great shape. Fantasy lovers read these. It's 7 books in all, but if you are a King fan, a fantasy, western, sci-fi, romance, or horror fan, The Dark Tower is a must. King has almost 50 novels (not including The Dark Tower series), and 7 books of short stories or novellas. About 15 of the novels tie in directly to the series, along with many of the short stories/novellas. This is his magnum opus that ties everything SK Universe together. Brilliant.

  • Large print is perfect!

Had a small, regular print of this book, needed large print. Perfect!
