Best U.S release of DBZ
I'm sure all of you know what these are all about, but let me list all of the great features that these have. -frame by frame remastering, carefully remastered by hand, all of the original colors are beautifully presented -4:3 FULL SCREEN!!!!!! No 16:9 cropping -original japanese audio defaults to japanese w/english subs. Includes english dub but no english music (no Bruce Faulcner) -original beginning/ending credits w/original songs-original japanese title cards-original next episode previews (japanese only) -packaging is much nicer quality that any other US release. Includes extensive hardcover collectible Dragonbook (somewhere around 80 Pgs) -disk artwork resembles that of the japanese Dragon Boxes In other words, if you are deciding on wether or not to get these or the season ... Dragon Box, Vol. 2 is a Kamehameha X 10 out of 10
I have watched the entire DragonBall Z series several times across various formats: original Japanese audio VHS tapes, Cartoon Network, professionally released DVD's, Digitally Remastered DVD sets, and even Super Ultra Uncut Remastered Very Special Collector's Only DVD box sets. However, even after watching the series several times over, I STILL found the need to buy the Dragon Box sets. I admit; I couldn't tell a lot of difference between the Dragon Box Vol. 1 and the Digitally Remastered box sets previously released, but they really seemed to step up their game in Vol. 2. I could tell a decent amount of difference in the visual quality, although not as much in the audio department. Either way, if you are a diehard DragonBall fan (and we seem to be few and far between these days) you ... I didn't buy this set but I am sure I need this original box set and the original individual blue cases of dragonball z over the seasons and kai seasons cause of accurate subtitles and closed caption and as well of better picture and uncut scenes! I got the seasons and was disappointed all because of subtitles were not accurate and some cut out parts! I had watched in japenese language but with English subtitles or cc and also in English language and subs or cc and were better then the new seasons and kai for sure!! Once I get the money it will be my first thought to get for sure! I love dragonball z over any other cartoon and animation, can't get enough of it!! dragon box volume 2 great set
Its a very cool boxset comes with fun book with episode guide plus other info. Episodes are uncut and in full screen so the image isnt cut off from cropping on other releases of the show. Can watch in english or japanese with subtitles if feeling adventurous for us english speaking people haha.

Not worth that MUCH money.
I'm a huge fan of DBZ. As it stands the dragon box is the best release up to now. I can't recommend anybody to buy this though, as hundreds of dollars for a DVD set is insanity. I really hate this situation, but we have to deal with it. By buying this, you're enabling scalpers to rip people off, because they have no lives. People who sell things this high value don't deserve that kind of money. Please save your money and hopefully Toei will one day make a better release that doesn't expect more than what these scalpers are asking for.I'm a huge fan of DBZ.
