I didn't do that and ordered these because eBay said it would fit. It does but it's very loose with my Smittybilt top. Smaller head. I wouldn't trust driving at "higher" speeds with the wind. The studs have a wider head than the originals and it's harder to snap in. This is not the fault of the seller. Their pictures are accurate to what is being sold, just different style in US.
