Christmas is approaching in Frogtown Hollow, and Emmet Otter and his Ma hope to buy gifts for each other. Unfortunately, Emmet doesn't make enough from the odd jobs he does, and Ma doesn't make enough as a laundress. They decide to compete in the Frog Town Hollow Talent Contest in order to win money, but Ma will have to hock Emmet's tool chest to buy a costume, and Emmet will have to put a hole in Ma's washtub for his band! Kermit the Frog hosts this classic Muppet musical Christmas tale, based on the book by Russell and Lillian Hoban, with original songs from master tunesmith Paul Williams.

    Emmet Otter gets it done.

    Emmet Otter and his "Jug Band" have become a staple in our house. Every Christmas we bring it out and watch it continuously. We even give it as presents and have hooked several new people on Emmet AND NOW the latest tapes shows us how Jim Henson, and crew made this movie. To me that's more entertaining that the original tape. Go Emmet; His mother is pretty foxy too..

    LOVE!!!

    Absolutely one of the sweetest holiday shows ever - adorable characters, great songs, great message. has always been one of my favorites, and to have it on DVD so I can watch it every year is just the best. Plus this disc has bonus features, including a sing-a-long. Great product, great value.

    I will not know until next year when I watch it. I'm sorry I do not have one hundred words to type about this product. This is bogus to have to type one hundred words for this review. I know I liked the VHS one I bought over 20 years ago; and it still works; but modern days now with upgrades & my kids wanted this movie. They have watched it every year since we have had it. They get a bang out of it now that they are grown...Man this bites I can't even use short cuts. Is this one hundred words yet,because I am not counting them? I guess not. Well anyway, JESUS loves you & He is returning to take those with Him who believe in Him...Oh there is a catch...also those that serve & worship HIM...not those who play lip service. I don't know of any other God I want to worship because no other God ...

    Emmet's Otterly Entertaining Jug-Band Christmas

    I purchased this movie for my family, because of its wholesome entertainment value. The ingenious style of Jim Henson, enhances the story as only he has perfected. Through music and humor, the story is appealing to all ages. The story sets a perfect example of: No matter how many sour apples life may toss your way, through Family Unity, you will find the obvious "Pot O' Gold". The positive overtones of this story, will continuously, overwhelm your family, with every viewing. The special features, include a truly funny outtake series. What I did not like about the movie, was... Absolutely Nothing. I Loved It!! Although, after seeing the deleted scenes, I wish the clips could have been incorporated into the Collector's Edition.
