Synopsis
In 1994, Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson were brutally murdered at her home in Brentwood, California. O.J. Simpson was tried for the crime in a case that captured the attention of the American people, but was ultimately found not guilty of criminal charges. The victims families brought civil cases against Simpson, and he was found liable for willfully and wrongfully causing the deaths of Ron and Nicole by committing battery with malice and oppression. In 2006, HarperCollins announced the publication of a book in which O.J. Simpson told how he hypothetically would have committed the murders. In response to public outrage that Simpson stood to profit from these crimes, HarperCollins canceled the book. A Florida bankruptcy court awarded the rights to the Goldmans in August 2007 to partially satisfy the unpaid civil judgment, which has risen, with interest, to over $38 million. The Goldman family views this book as his confession, and has worked hard to ensure that the public will read this book and learn the truth. This is the original manuscript approved by O.J. Simpson, with up to 14,000 words of key additional commentary., Get the full story in O.J. Simpson's own words! On July 31, 2007 Federal Court Judge A. Jay Cristol awarded the Goldman family the rights to If I Did It. Thus began one of the strangest odysseys in publishing history. The book, called "one of the most chilling things I have ever read" by Barbara Walters, skyrocketed up bestseller lists across the country in fall 2007 as the national media relentlessly covered O.J. Simpson's dramatic Las Vegas arrest for armed robbery and kidnapping. Originally written by O.J. Simpson, this edition includes essays by the Goldmans and a member of the Goldman family legal team that reveal the fascinating story behind the bankruptcy case, the book's publication and the looming court proceedings, that would eventually lead to his conviction. Kept my attention.

Read the whole book in one evening-rare for me. The chapter about the actual killing was compelling reading. A cautionary tale of when jurors and others make decisions based on race instead of evidence. The self-told tale of a murdering, psychopathic bastard.

    • YES, OJ DID IT, NO "IF" ABOUT IT!

This ANIMAL IS A MURDER, after reading his confession which he disguised as an "...if I did it" leaves no doubt in my mind that OJ killed the mother of his children and because he is black, killed them in California and is a "hero" celebrity he got away with TWO MURDERS. Because OJ was black and everyone was afraid there would be riots in the streets of LA which would make the Watts riots & fires seem like a single match stick! Even after getting away with two MURDERS, OJ had the nerve of robbing guys, using guns, IN OF ALL PLACES LAS VEGAS! Las Vegas doesn't let anyone get away with robbing their customers-that's bad for business & the powers that be in LV were not going to let anyone, not even celebrity like OJ get away with robbery , not in their town-their only business is tourism & ...

    • if I DID IT

If you ever wondered or were sure he did it, then this is the book for you! The arrogance of OJ is captured so well in this book. You will read first hand accounts from the ghost writer himself along with commentary from the Brown family. Once you start the actual pages from his mouth, you will not be able to put the book down!

    • Guilty

It is a compelling read but the constant barrage of Simpson’s rants and f bombs wore me out. Just another proof of what a vile man this killer really is. He’s as guilty as the nose on his mug. The victims deserve justice.

    • Yes He Did It

I am appalled that Simpson blamed each and every episode on Nicole. He takes no responsibility at all. Good read if you can hold your emotions in check.
