The title suits the story. Holiday theme.
Good story line; Holiday setting which i preferred. This book is shorter than others because it contains lots of holiday recipes. Good condition & prompt delivery. One of my favorite authors.

This is the sixth book in the Hannah Swensen series. I really enjoyed this book. This one is a little different than the other ones. In this one the murder and the solving of the murder all happen in one night. It really isn't even a murder. This is more of an accident that no one wants to take the blame for. In this story Hannah goes to the community center for a party where everyone tries out the receipes for the Lake Eden cookbook. All the receipes are given out to people other than the creator to make. This is where everyone tells what they liked or hated about that receipe. Bill and Mike, the local police are the only ones not there. Here is where we meet Brandy. She is a stripper from Vagas. She marries one of the locals who is on the rebound. He divorced his wife and when to Vagas ... This is the sixth book in the Hannah Swensen series. I really enjoyed this book. This one is a little different than the other ones. No one likes her. She makes a plan that she will steal an antique knife that Hannah's mother let her use. With the knife she plans to leave town and get a quick divorce. She thinks she can get away without being seen. One of the people see her and they confront her. Brandy fights back. She slips and falls while holding a sugar cookie. When she falls she lands on the knife. It pierces her chest. She dies instantly. The person with her realizes what happened and doesn't want to get blamed. This person goes back to the party. Hannah goes into the kitchen not too much later and finds a door ajar. She investigates and finds Brandy's body. Now Hannah and her crew start to snoop. They find motive for almost everyone. Norman, Hannah's on again-off again boyfriend is taking pictures of the event. Hannah decided that these pictures may hold evidence. She is right. They catch Brandy in the act of stealing the knife. They also see someone following Brandy out the door. This is who they find out who was with Brandy in the parking lot. They also find that the persons shoes must be soaked from being in the snow. Hannah goes to check the closet and she finds the shoes. Now she goes on search for the person with boots on. She finds this person quickly and admits to being with Brandy. This is a nicely packed short story that makes you think. I really enjoyed this. The best part is the end when Hannah's sister Andrea goes into labor. Hannah drives Mike's Hummer through a blizzard to the hospital. He doesn't like it but admits she did a good job. Andrea has a baby girl and they name her Bethany after the mothers. to understand this you must read the book. This was a great story that has it all. Eventhough it is part of a series you can read this one it's own and it will make sense. Just read it and you'll see what I mean.

Hannah Swensen is in the final stages of putting everyone's best recipes into the Lake Eden Holiday Buffet Cookbook. All the items will be baked and served at the annual Christmas Buffet. While Hannah is baking her days away, testing recipes, her sister is about ready to give birth to her second child, her mother has a new significant other who is an actual British Lord and Hannah's "sometime" boyfriends are trying to up each other as usual. As the evening arrives at the Lake Eden Inn and all the town's folk arrive, Martin Dubinski slides up to the buffet with his new Vegas showgirl wife---all wrapped up in glitter and fur. His ex-wife, however, seems as cool as a cucumber about the whole thing. Then just before they cut the cakes for dessert, Hannah's mother's antique knife disappears and ... I really enjoyed this book. Whenever there is a murder in a place that nobody can escape, it makes it that much more interesting. Ms. Fluke does a good job of keeping the action moving and there are some surprises at the end...not to mention over 50 new recipes to try!

Must Have Series
I love all of this series books! The receipes themselves are well worth buying the books. My daughter loves them too and we use alot of the receipes. I like it because there's not bad language or sexual content in it like some of the other popular series have gone to. It's interesting to see how she tries to decide which man she likes the most and will marry. My daughter and I see if we can guess who did it and why. It is Christmas time in Minnesota and in a little town called Lake Eden, they are about to host their annual Christmas Buffet. Hannah is writing a cookbook and will be using some of the recipes shared from the residents. Hannah also owns a bakery. During the buffet they have a blizzard come down upon them as well as a murder. Mike works for the sheriffs office and Hannah's date, so she decides to help solve the murder.
