I purchased this item as I have just moved house and was setting up my at home office. I wanted to tidy up my desk of wires and thought slotted trunking would do the trick. However I couldn't find a reliable source for this and on checking Ebay found PCArena ... they have been excellent from beginning to end and the goods arrived when promised and without problems. Overall disappointing for me. Item had an eight day lead time, which felt long, given it was "in stock" and the seller hadn't said they were away. Nothing arrived. On the ninth day I opened a case with a polite note reporting item not received. Seller didn't bother to reply. They added tracking details the next day and it has now been received a full 11 days after it was ordered ... but still no explanation. And no apology, of course. The product itself is OK but the delay/silence wasn't.

Coat pocket sized, bright and lightweight.
I have been using this torch for around 2 weeks now. There are a number of functions accessed by a single push button located towards the front of the torch. The protrusion at the rear is not a button. I find this more convenient than a rear button to operate. The rubber cover of the button is flush with the torch body, I have not had any problems with it being accidentally switched on while carried in a pocket. It is slightly fiddly to find and operate the button while wearing gloves but is possible. The shape of the torch around the button helps locate it in darkness. 1 press switches on bright - another press within 5 seconds switches to dim, after 5 seconds it just turns off. A single press from dim switches off. In any state, off, bright, or dim, you can do a fast double click to ... I have been using this torch for around 2 weeks now. This is useful when walking on busy roads, like having a flashing cycle light for extra visibility. Also you can press and hold the button from any state to get an extra bright beam, intended for short bursts, from the off mode this leaves you on bright beam, otherwise you return to the beam setting you had before when releasing the button. It has a good powerful beam, the dim setting is sufficient for most purposes, it emits a white light. Previously I was using a Shallow Light diving light, while this M900P is a lot more expensive it is a good upgrade that will hopefully prove durable, as the newer design of those with 2 grooves on the right side are not so well made as the old ones, one lasting only a year and then another just a few months for me, while the old design one lasted a few years, had a better light quality, and still sort of works but with a dodgy switch. They are a copy of the LED Lenser frogman torch, but this Ansmann M900P was a cheaper way to get a professional type torch with the handy 4AA pocket sized format, as the frogman would have cost yet more. Plus it has extra features and I don't actually need to swim underwater with a torch, and it has proved to be noticeably brighter than the Shallow Light's, which were pretty bright themselves. The body is plastic so it is lightweight. There is no focus adjustment but it gives a good tight beam I am happy with as standard. The lanyard it came with was a bit small to get over my hand, I took a lanyard and sprung adjuster button from an old Shallow Light and used that instead as that is much bigger and versatile and can be adjusted when hanging on things and so on. It reminds me a bit of a Screwfix 5 LED 4xAA torch from perhaps 10 years ago, as on that you could press the button to cycle between 1 central beam bright LED, 4 peripheral flood LED's, or all on together, then off. However that had a mechanical switch where every press rotated the contacts, which ultimately wore out after a few years, while this I presume is done by electronically sensing the signals from a simple push switch. The batteries are loaded by unscrewing the lens housing, sliding out a unit with contacts (possibly gold plated, unless it's shiny brass and will tarnish in time) and the switch in it, and behind that the batteries are located in 2 rows of 2 extending down the handle area. There is lettering on the lens unit which does not necessarily line up perfectly when the lens is screwed on. 11 months later, 9/11/2019 - it stopped working. (A couple of weeks ago it fell out of my pocket onto the road) The guarantee is for 3 years but also states rechargeable batteries cannot be used. It had been working fine, I took out the batteries to recharge them, and when I put them in again it won't switch on, even with other batteries. 10 days later - I found a small gold spring on the floor. Soldering it back on has fixed it and it works again.

Very bright torch! It generates a fantastic amount of light.
This torch is superb. It takes four 1.v batteries and generates a fantastic amount of light. Just two settings bright and super bright. There is no strobe which is great for me as I do not see the point of a strobe which would drain the battery very fast. The last thing you would want to do if you were lost on a mountain is drain your torch flicking through a strobe setting every time you turn it on.This torch is superb. It takes four 1.v batteries and generates a fantastic amount of light. Just two settings bright and super bright. There is no strobe which is great for me as I do not see the point of a strobe which would drain the battery very fast. The last thing you would want to do if you were lost on a mountain is drain your torch flicking through a strobe setting every time you turn it on.
