    A ride through blues, r&b, soul and beat by a guy who influenced a whole generation after

    Piano Red Willie Lee Perryman (1911 – 1985) aka Dr Feelgood in the eponymous LP from 1962. A travelogue from 1940s boogie-woogie to early soul and beat of the 60s including Mr Moonlight which was covered the year after by the Beatles - a doo-wop number with a Latin backbeat which all Beatles fans hate but was my favourite at the time and still makes me smile - just like PR said it would. Includes some emerging electric guitar solo and sax Everyone should have PR in their collection - after all he played bar-room blues in the 30s, boogie in juke joints in the 40s, and released a RocknRoll record in 1950, and is here passing on his 50 years experience to a younger beat generation. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is it doesn't have more of the earlier barrel-room 40s & 50s R&B stuff Also ...
