    Alistair Sim is outstanding as usual

    Saw this for the first time a couple of Christmas's ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so I wanted to see it again. Alistair Sim is outstanding as always, and the story keeps you engaged. Considering its around 70 years old now and still better than a lot of modern content is testament to the quality of this movie (and of course the book it is based on). If you don't mind b&w movies that are period based then you might be surprised just how good this film is.

    It’s still a unsettling visit.

    A wonderful story, that must have been quite shocking for the early 50s. An amazing situation arises and each actor plays their part magnificently, and even the normally funny Alistair Sim leaves a creepy feeling in the air. An early film yes, but enjoy it, it still lingers in your head, long after the film has ended.

    Totally enjoyable "oldie" film

    We bought An Inspector Calls dvd because my grandson has this play in his English exam and we thought it would help. We enjoyed the dvd as it gives you a better idea about the characters in the play. We did notice that there were a few differences between the play version and the dvd version, but discussing this with teachers has helped to understand the play more. The actors in the film are all very good believable characters. Alistair Sim again shows his excellent acting skills.
