About this product

Product Information

The 2008 release in Electronic Arts' high-mileage road-racing series, Need for Speed: Undercover is built on a revamped game engine with a dual focus: realistic sports car physics and accessible, empowering controls. Hundreds of components and systems are individually modeled on each automobile, for realistic acceleration, suspension, weight displacement, and handling, in any car and under any circumstance. The game features dozens of automobiles from the world's leading manufacturers, as well as real-life aftermarket parts, paint, vinyl, and other customizations.

The "Heroic Driving Engine" introduced in Need for Speed: Undercover aims to harness the game's realistic physics by condensing difficult, dangerous driving maneuvers into simple, button-press controls. Players perform 180s, 360s, burnouts, and instant reversals with the tap of a few buttons, and a fixed camera angle makes it easier to follow the action through spins and quick turns. It does not take stunt driver skills to drive like a stunt driver in Need for Speed. It still requires a stunt driver's spirit, however, with imaginative routes and daring maneuvers well rewarded, and a complete wipeout always one wrong turn away.

Undercover's single-player campaign is driven by a story that sends the player's character deep into an underground crime syndicate, using his driving skills to gain trust by performing jobs and wining street races around Tri-City Bay, the game's fictional, open-world setting. Much of the driving action takes place across wide, southern U.S. highways. The roads can fill up with randomly generated traffic and multiple, computer-controlled cop cars that work together to chase down crooks. Other game modes allow players to take the role of the fleeing suspect or the pursuing police in one-off levels and challenges.

    Entertaining racing game

The wii version of this game does not have any fancy graphics like the ps3/360 version, but it does have very entertaining gameplay and various controller optiones.. its a good racing game to kill some time if you dont mind the low res graphics

  • Need for Speed Undercover

This game did not impress me at first because we had expected it to be more like the x-box game we played over a friends house. The raods through the city are not as detailed with options of making different turns. As we played it over and over and in different modes we have found the game to be a lot fun. the steering and controls with Wii remind me of the controls for the indy cars and LeMans racing with the electronic shifting. The gaming options make this fun for multiple players. Wwe enjoy taking turns being the police vs the runner. I didn't rate it as excellent because of the misleading thought mentioned above. other then that it is a great game with lots of detail.

  • NOT THE BEST IN THE SERIES

Need for Speed: Undercover. Mediocre racing and tacky styling leave it stuck in neutral, gunning its engine while going absolutely nowhere. While a long campaign mode and intriguing new experience system get the pistons pumping, everything grinds to a halt when the rubber hits the road in the newest installment of the series. If you haven’t played a NFS game in the past four years, Undercover is a decent option if you want to rekindle your love affair with the stalwart series. NFS of old was about hot cars, hot pursuits and miles and miles of open road, and Undercover make a semi-successful fist of recapturing some of this magic. Looks great, plays fine. There’s no getting around the fact, however, that Undercover is basically Most Wanted with a new lick of paint. OVERALL 6/10 RENT THIS ...

  • Cool game...alot of fun to play.better than pro street

This NFS game is alot of fun. I have nitro which is one of my favorite wii games. and this one is right up there with it. I had prostreet, but didn't like the fact that you couldn't use the nunchuck control to steer....only using the remote like a steering wheel. Undercover you can use the nunchuck, which is a big plus for me. This has the classic need for speed theme of driving around crashing cars and running from the cops and there are also races too. I would definitely recommend it!

  • NFS Undercover for Wii is slightly above average.

Typical racing style game that's fun to play and doesn't take a lot of time to get going right out of the box.Having said that,I was however somewhat disappointed in the quality of the grafics. At times I found it hard to see some of the road due to the darkness of the game. Also lacking the option of manual shift made it feel less realistic.I would still recommend this game due to the lack of many other good racing games for the Wii
