A disillusioned little boy, just old enough to doubt the existence of Santa Claus, has the adventure of a lifetime one fateful Christmas Eve. Clad in his pajamas, he climbs aboard a magic train to the North Pole, driven by a kindly train conductor (voiced by Tom Hanks who starred in both of Zemeckis's Academy-Award winning films FORREST GUMP and CASTAWAY). Among myriad jaw-dropping moments, the train plummets brakeless through crystalline mountains in a simulated roller coaster ride. Going off the rails, skidding sideways, and snaking violently across a frozen lake, the train arrives at the North Pole (a vast, glowing city of brick buildings). At that moment, the car carrying the kids detaches and they're sent tumbling down never-ending chutes and slides until they land in the middle of Santa's Workshop.     Waited Two Years to get this VHS Tape

    The good thing about is that it is a great holiday movie, and i've been waiting two years since i started collecting VHS tapes again to achieve this VHS. Also it's also the rarest VHS i officially now have in my entire VHS collection!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Believe

    I really enjoyed this movie. The graphics are really great, much better than I was expecting. Most of the voice work is done by Tom Hanks, and he does a great job of it. The main moral to this movie is to believe. If you don't believe in something you won't be able to experience it. In the movie they used in an example if you didn't believe in Santa (or the beauty of Christmas), you wouldn't be able to hear the bells ring on Santa's sleigh. It's the same thing about life. If you don't believe you can accomplish something, it's likely that you won't get very far. This is a great movie for the kids as well as the adults. If you enjoy Christmas movies, then you will love this one.

    Polar Express VHS

    Each year in my second grade classroom, I do a learning unit on The Polar Express. When the movie came out, I started to include it as part of the unit. At the conclusion of my unit I have a pajama party for the students and their families to watch the movie together. Our school has a projection machine that is only compatible with VHS tapes. I had a previous copy on VHS, but it was misplaced when I moved classrooms this year. I was thrilled to find a VHS tape so that I could continue to show the movie on a large screen. The stores only sold DVD copies this year. While the movie was a used copy, it still worked beautifully.
