CD Changer & Storage on Steroids [holds 400 discs]
Even though it holds 400 CD’s I’ve had to purchase a further two, plus the BluRay DVD player as well. It’s a great way to store the discs for those I regularly play but even with all the storage it’s still necessary to change a bunch of them every so often. I’m finding some of the little features to be of enormous benefit even though they’re very minor, such as the feature that allows one to eject one disc out of the 400 as the distance between each disc is quite small and would be fiddly without it. There’s also the ability to plug in a PS2 connecting keyboard plus a mouse and a small monitor which all help in the editing of disc and track names and showing what’s being played, by whom and what’s coming next (don’t bother with a screen larger that 7-10” as it’s not necessary). Finally ... Even though it holds 400 CD’s I’ve had to purchase a further two, plus the BluRay DVD player as well. Finally there are a couple of points to be aware of with the remotes. One is very basic and does little more than change tracks, stop, play, pause or fast forward/reverse. The better remote has a screen plus two way comms between the remote and the jukebox and it has far more features (many of which are actually useful and not just gimmiks. All things considered, even though it’s a design over 20-years old there are bargains to be had from eBay. I do not recommend buying from America (or abroad in general, unless you’re fully aware of the additional costs at UK customs) as the postage charges are often much more than the item costs, but you don’t always find out what the import duties and taxation are until you receive a note from the post office saying they can’t deliver until you pay up! (It often doubles the cost so I no longer buy from countries outside the EU - but Brexit will put a halt on that as well).

Does what it says
I had previously owned the 300-disc version of this machine. This one, the CDP-CX455, as well having larger capacity has the ability to play MP3 files from CDs as well as ordinary music Cds. I discovered that the MP3 files have to be burned in "ISO" format, not just simply saved to CD. I used the free software "CdBurner XP" (using Vista) and it works simply perfectly. As I don't want to convert all mu old Music Cds, but also have a swelling collection of MP3s, this machine is the perfect answer for both formats.I had previously owned the 300-disc version of this machine. I love this piece of kit; I have wanted one for ages. It looks and plays great. It does not take up to much space, which is something that I worried about. It does take some time to load and label but I could possibly find a better way to do it. 1 negative is that it only displays on one line with twenty characters. I wish that it scrolled down to show the whole title of an album. I also wish that it could read the discs to list the tracks, and then I would not have to input, I think I have been spoilt by my MP3 lol. The controls are very easy to use and the displays a nice subtle colour blue, easy on the eye. The actual loading of the discs is easy. I highly recommend that you GET ORGANISED BEFORE LOADING. I have followed that up with Genre, i.e. Blues, Jazz, Soundtracks for compilations. There is a lot to learn about this equipment, trouble is being a guy I have no patience and want it all loaded and working right away. My wife and I have had fun loading it though. Great to get rid of all the cases on the wall, up in the loft they go. Tend to play more different stuff, great to browse. All in all don't know why I waited so long, oh yeah!! money for a new one. Next stop is a jukebox for some vinyl, or maybe several. Final word, GET ONE !!!
