About this product

Product Information

The sequel to 2005's Area 51 remake, BlackSite continues Midway's first-person foray into Nevada with a mission-driven game promising multiple solutions for every scenario. Players control a former Special Forces assassin named Aeran Pierce, who along with his AI-controlled squad, will battle an assortment of alien and mutant creatures threatening the small town of Rachel, Nevada. Morale plays a part in each teammate's attributes, with players rewarded for using tactics and punished for engaging enemy forces against overwhelming odds.

Your squad's aim, fatigue, and desire to fight are all influenced by the decisions you make, which could spell the difference between a successful mission and a trip to the morgue. Commands given to the squad are mapped to a single button, allowing players to quickly order individuals to use a sniper rifle, plant explosives, or drive vehicles. The latter includes a choice of ATVs, HMMWVs, helicopters, and civilian automobiles. In addition to the cinematic single-player campaign, BlackSite features deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, siege, and other multiplayer options for up to 16 combatants.

    Great game but bad multiplayer

The campaign is unique but is kind of predictable. If you're trying to get the multiplayer achievements you had better make a trueachievements account because no one plays online anymore. Not a great game but is definitely interesting.

  • Most critical review

I enjoyed it though IMVHO the 1st game i.e. Area 51 was much better.

    1) Are the graphics good?= I guess for the time i.e. 2007. 2) Is the gameplay compelling?= Pretty straight forward though the first game known only as (Area 51) was much more "compelling" not to mention challenging and not quite so linear. 3) Is it a good value?= Well I guess if one likes shooters and the like. For the most part I enjoyed it in 2019.

  • BlackSite: Area 51 (Xbox 360)

Gameplay: 6.5 The shooting mechanic is passable, but aiming is excruciatingly slow. The morale mechanic is pretty forgettable. Graphics: 7.0 While the game occasionally has its graphical moments and impressive visual moments, 90% of the game is bland art design. Sound: 6.8 The voice acting is decent, but sometimes confusing. Nothing special here. Difficulty: Medium Concept: 6.5 The story and dialogue is occasionally clever, but this is no Bioshock. Multiplayer: 7.5 There are the basic online modes, and while I wasn’t able to test them, Abduction Mode sounds interesting. Overall: 6.5 Blacksite: Area 51 is fun to play – sometimes - but when you compare it to other FPS’s on the market like Bioshock, Halo 3, and CoD4, there is no comparison. Playing a game like this makes you really ...

  • No expectations, basic functions, basic game...somewhat

There are two things about this game 1. Stupid Squad mechanics, hard to control the squad, its like herding chickens. Squad and enemy troops tend not to hide behind a barrier but in the open or in front of it. I think the squad shares the "Kane and Lynch" mouse brains 2. Spawning, infinite enemy spawning teleportation abilities. Some levels will infinitely spawn enemies, some teleporting in the same location over and over again, good for getting those 200 kills with a certain weapon achievements but eventually the infinite-spawning novelty wears thin. If your a Halo 3 player, you might like this game, has cartoony material in it. If your like me and found Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as the thee game of the year, this game cannot match the minimal bar set by COD4. The plus side, its ...

  • The best graphic game I ever played

Using HD TV this game is a bomb. It has a perfect picture. BlackSite: Area 51 (Xbox 360) is so far the best graphics I ever played. The game is realistic and the themes are about Alians VS Human Army, I hate the end beacuse is stupied, I also dislike that the game is too short.
