About this product

Product Information

Based on the 2000 arcade game, Smashing Drive for the GameCube involves racing a futuristic taxicab through the busy streets of New York City while competing against a rival cab and the clock. Players must finish the route within the time limit to advance, with bonus points awarded for beating the rival taxi. The game is divided into nine working shifts: Brooklyn, Wall Street, Little Italy, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Music City Hall, West Central Park, Sea and Air Museum, 5th Ave to 34th Street, and Times Square.<br><br>Since the object is to finish the route in as short a time as possible, players can look for one of the many shortcuts hidden within each track. A number of ramps are also found along the roads, allowing players to leap into windows, climb up the ladder of a burning building, and race atop a plane heading out of JFK airport. Three modes of play include Arcade, Survival, and Head to Head. All of the modes follow an identical format, but Survival offers the added challenge of minimizing damage taken by the cab.<br><br>To help players reach the finish line, eight different power-up balloons are available on the tracks: turbo boost, sonic blast (destroys oncoming vehicles with a beep of the horn), glider (allows the car to extend its jumps), four-by-four (turns the taxicab into a monster truck), repair (fixes damage), cutter (two spinning saw blades slice through objects), random, and crash (lets players plow through objects without slowing down). Players who achieve certain scores will be able to unlock the "Dusk & Wired" bonus shift.

Item arrived more battered than in the photos. It was a battle with seller to negotiate the price down as afterall it is just a cardboard box. They were very reluctant. Dropped price a little bit then forgot to mention other hidden charges not stated. Seller stopped replying to msgs. I would not recommend buying from seller. Transaction was not pleasant nor friendly and now I have a battered box that I paid over £140 GBP for as a collector can't do anything with ����������������������

The item was shipped using the Ebay Global Shipping program. As I stated in multiple messages I have no control over what you are charged for shipping, taxes or any other fees in whatever country the item was being delivered to. The box was in good shape as the pictures show in the listing with some minor damage which is pictured and mentioned in the description of the item.

    Smashing Drive (Game Cube)

    The graphics are a bit dated but a very addictive game. The levels are 'time to complete based' and this keeps the pace on the upswing for certain. The sonic horns bonus featured on the car as well as the 4x4 bonuses are the fun stuff to look out for. My 8 year old son enjoys the game and I think it would be better to be rated E.

    Best arcade of my childhood from off those old restaurants arcade rooms

    Best arcade of my childhood time I think everyone should recommend buying this game if you still have a Wii or a GameCube two thumbs up and it works 100% a namco taxi racing game 1 player arcade mode survival mode and 2 player and 1 block of a save file T For Teen of Violence. And that's all

    Fun Unique Driving Game

    This game is a fun and different kind of driving game then most are used to. This is not a race track racing game, but instead it is a race against the clock to get to your destination. You are a crazy cab driving driving through the city trying to be very efficient with no regard for people, staying on the road, or avoiding other cars. There are some fun powers you can gain including 4 by 4, glider, and turbo.
