A Exciting oldie full of action !

It's a very stimulating show ! The cars are awesome, if you like the big older cars ! Rockford character is engaging and classy . His Dad is funny ! And it's really exciting show! I feel it's only for adults ,as it is violent at times. Other than that it's worth buying ,I have the original series and the cheaper version which is crystal clear ! And it's worth buying ! Anyway ,No matter which version you buy it's all good !

  • harmonica and synthesizer come together like milk +oreo

From the great theme song to Jims love of milk and Oreo cookies, Rockford files delivers some of the best television moments ever. Driving the Pontiac firebird is Jim Garner himself. Garner doing all his own stunts also adds to the shows quality. The key to the show is of course Rockfords heart of gold. Often taking cases knowing they may well result in another of his frequent beatings just because a nice girl says please. The first season shows some experimentation resulting in a few of the episodes being a bit average(like the 2 parter). However even these shows have some great bits, not to mention excellent examples of how to lose a tail! The best detective show period.

  • Rockford Season #1 is Great Despite Universal's Blunder

Volume One of the Rockford Files dvd series finally gives us the complete first season (minus the un-aired pilot - which is included in Volume Two) of the highly-acclaimed television series from the 1970s. This colorful box set gives a small summary of each episode contained in the set. Unfortunately, it doesn't list important information such as names of the guest stars in each episode, run-time of each episode, or the orignal broadcast date of each episode. While the other sets in this series contain 5 to 6 discs, for some strange reason Season One contains only 3 discs and these are double-sided (and thus wont last very long before they're covered in scratches, no matter how delicately you handle them) and each come contained in a separate slim plastic container/jewel ...

  • Leaving My Message On the Machine

My TV reception is all in Arabic (a language I don't speak) and I only get an hour to an hour and a half of free time a day. So when I watch a TV episode, it has to have a plot that doesn't insult my intelligence and enough action to keep my attention after being awake for 15 to 16 hours. The Rockford Files (Season 1) fills the bill here. Jim Garner as the title character here is a little off-beat, compared to the usual TV detective (an unjustly convicted ex-con, a sarcastic who lives and works in a trailer off Malibu Beach). The episodes have just enough humor and plausibility to go with the usual 70s TV plot to make every episode well worth viewing. You can usually find new copies at a very reasonable price from a fair number of respected eBay merchants - certainly ...

  • 200 DOLLARS A DAY PLUS EXPENSES.

The Rockford Files is a great trip down memory lane. Its a show which you typically wont find on reruns anymore . Perhaps its considered out dated. James Garner is Jim Rockford and this show along with Columbo are the two best detective shows in history. Its amazing the amount of work GARNER did as Rockford in each episode compared to todays shows. In season one....where Rockford goes the camera goes. And his screen persona made a fantastic show. The show had a sense of humor which really made it special. You cant go wrong with the Rockford files....Its still GREAT!
