About this product

Product Information

This 3D shooter features eleven different tanks (tracked or hovering) and armored cars, each of them varying in design, ammunition capacity, rate of speed, size, special weapon of choice, and shield and armor strength. You can play either the Arcade or the Quest mode. The Arcade mode lets you switch out vehicles between each level and find bonus tank power-ups, which allow you access to new tanks. In the Quest mode you must stick with the same tank the entire game and carry weapons and tank conditions throughout all the levels. In both modes of play, you can set the degree of control for aiming and targeting, carry two different weapons simultaneously, and use a radar map for revealing enemies, obstacles, etc.

The ten stages of play take place in an occupied city, a war-torn forest, an enemy airbase, a series of deep canyons, treacherous wastelands, and other war-time locations. Each level has a specific mission. Most of the action during these missions consists of blowing helicopters and jets out of the sky, shooting enemy tanks, and destroying key enemy locations such as buildings, power substations, oil rigs, and a satellite uplink center. You must also avoid enemy fire, land mines, and other things hazardous to the health of your armored vehicle. In addition to the standard one-player game, a two-player head-to-head mode is also available.

Item came faster than expected. Shipping price was more than fair considering it came over U.S.A.'s northern borders. Came in great condition and working just as the description told. Would have preferred the discs had been cleaned a bit more before the package was shipped, but they were just as clean in person as they were in the photos. Very well packaged and priced. Thank you Seller for a great package! Would definitely buy from the seller again!

    Childhood classic!

I had forgotten all about this game over the years then remembered it when I decided to break out my old PS2 and play some games. When I realized that I didn't own this in my collection already I decided I had to have it again. For a Playstation 1 (PSX) game, the graphics were great, easy to learn and control, and arcade/campaign mode gave it more play-ability. I always loved how most of the tanks were named after snakes, I think that's what drew me to it when I was little. Going to enjoy this even more now as an adult (27 years old).

  • A solid, enjoyable, underrated tank fighter.

Steel Reign is a third person shooter and was relased on the Sony PlayStation by SCEA in 1997. It chronicles the story of General Reign and his endeavor to destroy his rival, General Storm, and his army. To aid him in his vendetta, General Reign has a small fleet of prototype battle tanks at his disposal, each of which are outfitted with cannons, rocket launchers, lasers, mines, and shield generators. The game looks impressive by the PlayStation's standards, with well-detailed terrain, tanks, and enemy installations. The controls are as fluid as could be, though players who have become adjusted to using analog control sticks may have some trouble re-acclimating to using a digital control pad. If you own a PlayStation, and enjoy shooters, do not hesitate to pick this up. 5/5

  • this game reigns supreme.

this game is great. rented this game from a blockbuster along time ago. when they were selling the older used games i looked for it but it was already sold. years later i find this one brand new still shrink wrapped. bought it without thinking and havent looked back. it was worth it to play an undamaged and unscratched disc. hunter
