    Stranded in Mexico without a passport

    Good...but it should have been called STRANDED IN MEXICO WITHOUT A PASSPORT. The monsters rarely attack, and when they do, the two main characters seem more awestruck than terrified. Most of the fear factor is due to being stranded in Mexico without money or passport. That part was very realistic, possibly due to actually being filmed in Mexico with native extras, not professional actors. The scenery was beautiful. The main characters could have just as easily been menaced by jaguars or poisonous snakes in their trek through the jungle. As science fiction or horror, MONSTERS misses the mark. But if you don't need gore and you enjoy a good survival-in-a-hostile-environment tale, it's worth a look.

    Scary and thought provoking.

    Excellent,intelligent sci-fi! One of those "less is more" type of sci-fi films like "It the terror from beyond space" (the original Alien).

    Monsters is a must see for the independant filmmaker

    Most movies involve a small army of cast and crew making their budgets out of reach for anybody but a select few. Here, a small group of dedicated filmmakers have managed to produce a breathtaking feature on a shoestring budget with extraordinary results. Check out the special features for the behind the scenes material -I was blown away. So much so, that I had to own a copy.
