One day, just after the birth of her second son, she discovered a lump in her breast; her mother Gloria knew instantly that all their lives were about to change forever. Caron set out with her husband Russ and sons Charlie and Gabriel on a quest for a cure, a journey that took her across the world and led her to explore all sorts of therapies, both conventional and alternative, never losing her positivity or her courage. Her family became experts in the illness and its treatment and Gloria was with her daughter every step of the way; comforting, supporting, just being with her. When Caron was in her last hours, she drove with Russ from Switzerland to Kent to be with her mother when she died. Written by Gloria, but with extracts from Caron's own diary, this is a compelling story about an unbreakable mother/daughter bond; it is an honest book about illness Caron wasn't a saint and being sick often made her cranky, depressed, downright angry. It's a book to offer comfort to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. But most of all, it's a testament to Caron; a woman who in her career abseiled down skyscrapers, jumped under freezing waterfalls, swam with sharks.
