The Schwalbe marathon tyres fantastic reputation is well earned. They are grippy in all conditions and are much quicker to ride on than they look like they will be. I swapped a pair of 23c conti slicks for 25c marathons and the only difference I notice is more comfort and grip. I expected some lag but have noticed none. They really are a great tyre. They're a bit heavier but I've not really noticed it riding. Only negative for me was that they were the tightest tyres I've ever tried to fit. After fitting tyres onto bikes since I was a kid this was the first time I ever had to google how the hell to fit a tyre on. I had broken 3 plastic tyre leavers at that point. My wheels are pretty skinny deep dish wheels and honestly, without following the tutorial I found from a bearded cycling expert, I'd still be sweating and swearing about this in my kitchen as I had a fight with the tyres. Rest assured though that if you follow a bearded cycle expert on youtube, or are indeed yourself a bearded cycle expert, then you'll have no problems fitting them. Once they're on the wheels they're a brilliant set of tyres.Read full review

Having spent part of February of lock down converting my old Whyte Hybrid to an E Bike with Bafung Mid Mount engine I was keen to get out as soon as lockdown ended out on the road and use my bike to get to work. Things were fine but felt that I might need to upgrade the brakes and tyres as the extra speed felt they were taking a bit more abuse than previously. New pads solved the breaks and have now upgraded my tyres for extra grip and hopefully more protection from hitting pot holes at speed. Time will tell but very happy and more confident on longer trips and also going more on stony cycle paths with stones pinging everywhere

These are excellent tyres. I've had a pair on my bike for a few years now. I bought this pair for my partners bike as they are pretty much puncture proof. They come in most popular sizes, I fitted mine to an early 80's bike that originally had 1 1/4" tyres, my rims cope fine with a pair of 1.50 tyres. We're not part of the lycra clad brigade, my partners bike is a Dutch type single speed and mine is a three speed hub gear bike. We would just prefer to spend time riding, rather than fixing punctures! Overall, altough they are slightly dearer to buy, their quality more than makes up for it.

First time I have used the greenguards . Put them on my ‘fast touring’ bike .. very comfortable and compliant ride .. I had read a few reviews stating they were hard to fit. I had no problem fitting them onto Mavic Open Pro rims and they rolled on without the need for levers. On what I have experienced so far I would thoroughly recommend these tyres.

These tyres are 50% heavier than the schwalbe luganos they replaced, which suffered a couple of punctures in relatively few miles. I am hoping these will be more resilient. The tread is deep and they look tough, but they feel much the same to ride. Tyre fitting was tricky as the sidewalls were stiff and wouldn't fit in the rims without initial strapping.

Live in rural Somerset, winter hedge cutting season sees every farmer at it. Thorns everywhere. Was running Schwalbe crosspacs and getting flats both ways on the commute. Fitted these a month ago. No punctures, happy, happy days :) Took a while to get the psi dialed for comfort vs rolling vs grip but happy now. Pretty grippy for a semi slick. The 26 x 2.0s make my bike a fat tyre tourer, maybe get the 1.75s next time.

Excellent grip, perfect tread, puncture resistant and price well compared to other similar type tyres

Wanted some tyres with good puncture protection after getting fed up of regular roadside repairs, upto three times a week, with my slick racing tyres. Really pleased no punctures at all since using these tyres. They roll well and give extra confidence when cornering and in the wet. They are a tight fit and really need steel tyre levers to fit all though I did manage with the plastic ones only breaking one lever. I highly recommend these tyres to anyone looking for a good all weather tyre with reliable puncture protection.

they say after a nuclear war the only thing to survive will be cockroaches, add Schwalbe marathons to that list.they are heavy, offer poor grip in the wet,a total bugger to put on,but if like me you want to ride your winter/commuter bike in the absolute knowledge that you can ride over broken glass, sharp chippings,thorns,nails/tacks,off road riding/trails ect, then these are the tyres for you, this is my second set,the first set lasted approx. 20,000 miles before I got a puncture in the rear tyre which was quite worn at this point.the front tyre looked fine and I suspect could have covered several thousand miles more without any probs.without a doubt these tyres are bomb proof.

Pleased with these tyres. They are a bit of a shock when changing from a slick tyre, but they do a good job of making you feel safe while on wet roads. Bought for the winter. They feel quite heavy and rough while riding, but this is what should be expected. I found them very tight to fit, which just takes a bit of effort. Overall, I am very pleased - the water gets dispersed easily and I do not feel like the bike is going to slip away.
