  • Classic Movie - Classic Chamberlain

From the Alexandre Dumas classic - Richard Chamberlain in the role played by Jim Caviezel in the more current re-make, and Tony Curtis in the bad guy role played by Guy Pearce in same current re-make. Wrongly imprisoned for 13 years, he escapes to cleverly design and exact revenge on those who were responsible. Though "Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord", it is still really cool to see the clever, complex means the hero devises to fulfill his revenge. I love this intelligent story full of intrigue and good vs. evil. Richard Chamberlain's acting is, as always, superb. (Should also see him in The Man in the Iron Mask - way better than DiCaprio's performance and movie remake)

  • Intriguing, elegant, sophisticated swashbuckler.

You can't beat Richard Chamberlain in period movies. This one makes the most of his dashing good looks paired with regal bearing. Add a classic story and a wonderful cast -- Tony Curtis and Donald Pleasance -- and you have a wonderful film. This is a good companion to The Man In the Iron Mask and The Three and Four Musketeers, also starring Richard Chamberlain.

  • The Count of Monte Cristo

I love this movie from the first time I ever saw it. Love the plot and the actors are excellent. I bought it because it will always be one of my favorite movies (better than the re-make, newer version). Recomend highly!

  • steady but direct

Its hard to believe that Chamberlain didn't get the girl but that's the way the ball bounces. Curtis always gave a great performance and this was no exception

  • The Count

I like it because it is one of my favorite movies of all time! The action, the intrigue! I bought it to replace the one I lost earlier this year. Now all I need to do is find the 1934 version.
