Is lightweight & a handy size to store & use.
Having used one of these continuously, for some considerable time, I had no qualms about replacing it, with an identical item. The reason for the change, was due to accidental damage to my original. I'm now one happy chappy.

Better than Seculink.
I bought this to replace the "seculink" unit which had stopped recording, and then stopped working altogether. I could not believe how much better the picture quality was as I assumed (wrongly) that it was down to the cameras and not the recorder. The recording and playback setup is much simpler, but if I had to quibble it would be that the 1t/byte hard drive could do with being larger as it will only do about 10 days recording before it overwrites. Virtual sound card - a useful gadget.
It does the job ok. Labelling not as clear as on a previous version of this product, and seems more flimsy.

Did not work with external microphone.
The socket did not fit properly, wobbled. The stick was recognised. Didn't work with external microphone and we bought it for that reason. could not see whether or not the microphone and speaker was muted. instructions not very good.
