    Good for nostalgia, but not much else.

    Warriors was Gary Numan's seventh studio album and was released in 1983. Initially Numan was promised a 'virtually unlimited promotional budget' if he brought in an outside producer - having produced all his previous albums himself. Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe) was hired to help produce the album. Numan and Nelson fell out and Nelson is not credited on the album although his influence can be clearly heard on many tracks. For those who have found Gary Numan's music as a result of his more recent industrial sound, don't be fooled by the cover. This is most definitely not an industrial album. The music on Warriors is a jazzy-pop dance fusion with slap bass and saxophone features. The song writing is excellent, probably some of Numan's finest tunes turn up on this album, but - and it's a ...

    This was pretty much the last album Gary did with Beggars Banquet, Cant say its one of his best, but listen to it a few times and crank it up and you soon get to get a feel of whats going on, My Centurion is my fave outstanding track, and love is like clock law another, the whole album to me needs patience and an open mind to be really appreciated, listen to the lyrics and you'll hear a very paranoid and almost scared young man trying to get out, its the best of what was to come for the next 5-10 yrs, just glad he found his feet again in 1994 with sacrifice, the rest is history.

    Nostalgia

    I bought this item mainly because I was a huge Gary Numan fan in the '80's. The Warriors album was released to coincide with his world tour of the same name. As an eager and very impressionable 14 year old it had a profound influence on me and what music I would later decide to like. So basically, nostalgia! I love the album, albeit, a bit dated now, but it was good to listen to it again!

    Gary Numan - Warriors

    I bought it because I used to listen to Numan stuff (including this album) in my teens and thought it would be a good nostalgia trip. I was therefore somewhat surprised to discover how much I "re-like" this album. Its classy jazz sound mixed with electronic beats and sounds is soothing and yet uplifting at the same time-something I didnt experience years ago. As a result of this I have bought other albums of his that I used to own.

    Trying to be Mad Max

    Had it on vinyl but that jumps so bought it on CD. An expensive CD to track down, worth it for me as I remember it from my childhood, but not really representative of most of his work.
