    That IS the central character. Playing the piano again IS what drives his courage.

    A brilliant film about anyone interested in Germany's horrendous treatment of Poland during World War 2. A true story about an incredibly brave man and how he survived in the Warsaw Jewish ghetto.

    A true story about a pianist Jew hiding from the Germans. A truly marvellous film that keeps you totally entertained throughout. Just brilliant. The only downside were the subtitles on the DVD which did not match the actual words spoken - a little annoying when your just a little hard of hearing and not totally deaf

    This is based on a true story,and well worth a watch for the acting performances and period detail.A scene in which the pianist literally plays to save his life infront of a German officer is particularly poignant and tense.Well worth the time.
