I purchased these Sennheiser headphones recently having previously owned a pair of Pioneer Bluetooth ones which I wasn't that happy with (too heavy, uncomfortable to wear and not enough base). These HD 599s are in a different league! Really comfortable and just the right amount of bass and treble sound. You can hear every note even from 128kbps mp3 files direct off a laptop. The headphones seem to balance the output of all files perfectly - I like all sorts of music from Dvorak through to Dire Straits through to Deep Purple! Sound quality is wonderful. I did lots of online research before deciding on these - I wanted a mid priced but quality product, and these Sennheiser's are perfect for me. I also wanted a wired product (as I read that quality is usually better than wireless) and these headphones come with a choice of two cables - a shorter one with small 3.5mm jack plug and a long 3m cable with an older style big plug. I have only used the short one which is ideal for my laptop or phone. All in all - super happy! And thanks to eBay I got them at a good price too!Read full review

Usual great sound from Sennheiser. I use the phones to play classical from the PC - used to have audiophile CD player, amp and speakers but sound quality from the phones is more than good enough for my ears these days. I could go on about extended mid-range, strident treble, lightweight bass and soundstage effects - but I'd be pretending. There is a period of "burning in" to the phones, but they are now sounding quite beautiful and revealing details that I'd quite forgotten were in the recordings. I also have had a pair of PX100 travelling phones for my iPod for nearly 11 years which are still giving sterling service!

Great headphones from Sennheiser. Sound quality from these open backed headphones provides for a well balanced open sound and a spacious feeling for the overall sound. Comfort is just right a lightweight at 252gms. Easy enough to use with as a bluetooth option with an adapter like Airfrex SEHD. Build quality is good. Feels robust enough.

One of my first Sennheiser headphone. Definitely worth the price. I've used JBL and Sony headphones but they're not as comfortable as this. Genuinely not notice they're on my head sometime due to the light weight + open back style. Which may be a problem if you're used to the generic bluetooth like from JBL and Sony, in the beginning I would forgot that it's connected to my laptop and I would just walk away and yank my laptop... Once you're used to it, it's definitely worth it.

I was eyeing up other Sennheiser headphones as I wanted to make the switch from using a gaming headset, and honestly im wondering why I never did before. The sound is crisp, high and low notes are incredibly clear, and when accompanied by as DAC the experience is just a joy. I would highly recommend picking up either these or any of the other Sennheiser Open back headphones, you really won’t look back afterwards.
