This book features the liveries of 26 historic shipping companies carefully and faithfully painted in watercolour by Edward Paget Tomlinson, there is also a description of the Company's activities and the various liveries in use at different times. This book follows the author's recently published Colours of the Cut, which features the company liveries of inland waterways craft. The author had a career in maritime and waterways history and is well remembered in waterways/shipping circles. He died in late 2003.
