Reviews
Although the book is targeted at medical students, I think it would also be useful for interns preparing for ophthalmology residency. Dr. Bournias is an ophthalmologist who has assembled several contributors who have done a fine job with this introductory ophthalmology book....I would highly recommend this book to any medical student interested in ophthalmology. Given the reasonable list price, you would be hard pressed to find a better brief introduction to clinical ophthalmology for medical students. -- Doody's Book Review Service (TM) This book would be good for students studying ophthalmology or rotating through ophthalmology. ...I wish that this book had been written when I was a student. I like the fact that relevant clinical exam as well as ophthalmic exam is included in the diagnostic evaluation section because many of the ophthalmologic conditions are manifestation of systemic disease. -- PGY-I, Internal Medicine Prelim/Ophthalmology, University of Texas Medical Branch The material is quite concise, which is good for an elective ophthalmology course or a sub-I in ophthalmology." This format and content is exactly what is needed for this kind of book. The format is excellent. The content is very complete and includes what is needed. --4th year medical student, Yale Medical School The book as a whole can be an invaluable resource to a student on his or her opthalmology sub-I rotation...pocket-sized and handy. I like the common optho complaints section -- this is the section that can make you shine as a student and resident when your evaluation matters. The chapter includes a differential diagnosis section which is a must for a clinical rotation. --1st year resident in Neurological Surgery, Loma Linda University Medical Center The neuro-ophthalmology section is outstanding. I took a neuro-ophth elective in medical school, and this book would have been most helpful. --Intern, Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School

Although this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.
