More than just a British television classic, THE LORD PETER WIMSEY MYSTERIES claims historical significance as the show that single-handedly inspired PBS's MASTERPIECE THEATRE spin-off MYSTERY!. It also drew attention for its unusual length, with episodes running around three hours each, or longer in some cases. The program, set in the 1920s, is adapted from the writings of English mystery author Dorothy L. Sayers. This compilation includes three original mysteries: MURDER MUST ADVERTISE (1973), FIVE RED HERRINGS (1975), and THE NINE TAILORS (1974).
