    Much more than just a book about falconry - highly recommended!

    This book is superbly written and can be enjoyed on many levels. As much about human emotions and relationships and a deep love for and understanding of the countryside in all its moods as about the training of a goshawk, this book is insightful, always engaging and lyrical, and a delight. It should be on everyone's 'must read' list.

    I'd seen a recent interview on television with Helen Macdonald discussing her story, and was so impressed I bought a copy for my stepdaughter, who has worked in falconry. I'm sure she will enjoy the book very much.
